1

Isla del Rei and Mahón

  • Morning:: boat to Isla del Rei to visit the gallery and gardens
  • Lunch:: on the island, or back in Mahón
  • Afternoon:: explore Mahón: the harbour, old town and market
2

Cala en Porter, kayak and Cova d'en Xoroi

  • Morning or afternoon:: kayak along the cliffs towards Cales Coves. Go guided for more insight, or self hire for more freedom
  • Late afternoon:: beach time and relax
  • Evening:: sunset drinks at Cova d'en Xoroi
3

Cala Rafalet, cycling and Punta Prima

  • Morning:: Cala Rafalet, a quiet and rugged inlet, lovely for snorkelling
  • Midday:: cycle towards Punta Prima
  • Afternoon:: Punta Prima beach
4

Cala Morell: snorkelling and sunset

  • Morning:: snorkelling in clear water over the rocks
  • Midday:: the ancient cave dwellings and a short walk
  • Evening:: sunset over a calm, open horizon
5

Es Grau, flamingos, kayak and Illa d'en Colom

  • Morning, flamingos:: walk from the beach to the lagoon (5 to 10 minutes). Best spots: Sa Gola and the bird hides. Best time: early morning or evening
  • Kayak:: first hug the coast to the right for small caves and snorkel spots, then cross to Illa d'en Colom
  • On the island:: Cala Tamarells, the best beach, for a swim, a snorkel and a relax
  • Eat:: Bar Es Moll (simple, local, quick) or Tamarindos (great view, ideal for lunch or sunset)
6

Faro de Cavalleria, cave and beach

  • Lighthouse:: park nearby and take in the views over the north coast
  • Cave:: walk left of the lighthouse (1 to 3 minutes) to a small entrance and a dark tunnel that ends in a window above the sea
  • Plateau, east side:: right of the lighthouse, a 5 to 10 minute walk, quiet and panoramic
  • Beach:: Platja de Cavalleria, red sand and wilder water

Extra tip: Cala Macarella

Skip it in high season, when it is busy and parking is hard. Better to go early and hike in — or, the best option, hire a boat.

Also worth it near Es Castell

  • Boat excursions to Illa del Llatzeret and Illa del Rei
  • La Mola fortress and the Castillo de San Felipe
  • The military museum, Museo Histórico Militar de Menorca
  • Coastal walks around the harbour

Good to know

  • Mornings are the best time, calm and with little wind
  • North coast: wilder, but quieter · South coast: prettier water, but busier
  • Always bring water, sun protection and a snorkel
  • Check the wind, which matters on kayak days
